Material selection must match the oil, temperature, and cleaning method. Metal bodies, shaft alloys, gaskets, and mechanical seals can differ by application. Confirm compatibility with safety data and chemical-resistance information. Power requirements include voltage, frequency, starting current, enclosure rating, and site capacity. A pump may transfer oil well but overload a weak electrical supply. Leave a practical margin, but avoid oversizing. Excess capacity can cause unstable control and waste energy. My checklist helps, yet I revise it after every installation. Good selection is never purely theoretical.
